Positioning your windows
Because roofs tend to be high up, loft spaces often have the best views. And taking a few simple principles into account, you can really make the most of the views from your home.
It’s important to select a window with the right length in relation to where it is on your roof, and the steepness of your roof’s pitch. Click on the images below and see how to make the most of your view.
Window position and view
The angle of a roof window admits more light into a room than a vertical window. A roof window’s top edge can also be slightly higher than a vertical window’s, giving you a better view.
The more windows you have, the better your view. That’s why a great way to get the most out of your view and let in even more light is to add an extra VELUX window above or below your roof window.
