Kitchen

These days, the kitchen is one of the rooms where the family spends the most resources – and the most time. In addition to cooking, we play, work and relax in the kitchen, which is often converted into and renamed “the family room”. This means that we need the right light for all the functions of the room – cooking is just one of them.

Working with sharp knives and hotplates in the kitchen requires good lighting. When you are working at the kitchen table, you should not stand in your own light and the light should not blind you. But the lighting should also create a nice atmosphere, making the room attractive for the family and for guests.

Good light in the kitchen

  • Use daylight, among other things because it renders the colours of the food most naturally.
  • Also use light to make your kitchen a safe - and pleasant - place in which to work and be.
  • Of course, the more functions a kitchen has, the more important for it to be well-lit. Arrange the lighting according to all the activities that take place in the kitchen: Cooking, eating, homework, relaxation etc.
  • Put lights in separate zones: above the cooker, above the surfaces and close to a kitchen table, if there is one.
  • Incorporate ventilation - daylight and fresh air are essential in the kitchen, especially if you use the room for purposes other than cooking.
