VELUX wishes to play a responsible and active role in the local communities in which our companies are sited. For instance, a number of VELUX Group companies cooperate with local institutions and sheltered workshops running employment promotion schemes for people with reduced working capacity as a result of physical, mental or social problems.
Moreover, through the Employee Foundation of the VKR Group, the VELUX Group's companies support activities that make a difference to their neighbouring local communities.
This often comes about because VELUX employees are involved in the projects or in response to a recommendation from VELUX companies in the area. Such "Local Community Support" includes support for a wheelchair-basketball club in Austria, a sports project for overweight children in Denmark, firefighting clothing for volunteer firemen in Hungary - to name but a few.
